Whenever it's 102ºF outside, go ahead and change your socks midday. Well, that's what my fortune cookie said yesterday. And I always listen to the cookie.
As a graphic artist, it has always been a thrill to see my designs take shape from ideas into the forms of magazines and websites. Lately, however, I have been thinking of different ways to approach art and design. Short of eating one's own art, I can't think of a better way to celebrate good design than to wear it. Beyond its functional purpose, a sock's basic shape lends itself well to design. Just don't lend them to your friends. Nothing sours friendships faster than disputes over borrowed socks.
Thank you for taking the time to read my sock blog. If you would like to see some design samples, or if you would just like to talk socks, please feel free to reach me by phone, email, skype, or homing pigeon. Don't worry, I'm nice.
