Extreme Ironing (Not to be confused with the sport of Extreme Ironing)

According to a Rowenta Inc. survey, 5% of Americans iron their socks. National averages for other "extreme" items include:

49% iron jeans (High score: Dallas, 60%)
37% iron t-shirts (High score: Miami, 46%)
31% iron curtains (High score: Boston/Pittsburgh, 45%)
23% iron pillow cases (High score: Dallas, 32%)
15% iron pajamas (High score: Pittsburgh, 22%)
15% iron sheets (High score: New York, 21%)
10% iron boxer shorts (High score: Miami, 21%)
1-4% accidentally iron parts of their hands**
